My name is Katy Meininger, (last name pronounced mining-ger, think of an angry miner) which is where the name Meininger Media comes from. I am based in the Metro Detroit area, but I’m down to travel anywhere to make your vision a reality.

I remember growing up watching rom-coms with my mom and just thinking wow these people are so cute. Once I found photography, it was a done deal that I needed to be capturing love in some capacity. Witnessing a couples love for one another and being able to document that for them to look back on years down the road makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Getting to know someones story and document it is one of the best feelings, I can’t describe it. Fun fact: there is a 90% chance I will tear up or cry at your wedding. I just hide it well because my cameras in my face.

I love going to concerts, and that’s actually where I started out in photography. I’ve been photographing concerts for about 12 years now. I just love high energy, party type environments & I really love low light situations.

Don’t let that scare you, I’m always down for a chill & quiet wedding too. Whether you want your wedding to be a night club type party, or an elopement in the woods, I’m here for it.

My goal here is to help you enjoy your wedding day without stress. As your photographer (and hopefully your new bestie) I’ll help plan things and keep things running smoothly, I’ll also probably be the first to crack a dumb joke. When I was in highschool I labeled myself a hopeless romantic with a camera at one point and honestly, I think it fit pretty well. I’m just a goofy gal with a big heart who loves documenting love.

Katy was our photographer on our wedding day, she was amazing and nothing short of professional. We had met with her prior and we told her what our style was and she was completely on board and brought many ideas for pictures we hadn’t thought about.
