Breanne and Denny’s Friendship Park Wedding in MI was a goth meets fall celebration!

My journey as a Detroit wedding photographer is constantly filled with surprise and delight, and I am enjoying every minute of the ride. Last year, I hosted a model call. Denny reached out and expressed that he was already in the process of planning to propose to Breanne. I knew, immediately, that I just had to be part of capturing their story! My model call turned into a surprise proposal for Breanne. But, my journey with Breanne and Denny didn’t stop there. I heard from them a few short months later, and they both expressed that they were ready, with a capital R, to get married in the coming October. Naturally, I said yes, and before I knew it, I was meeting them at Friendship Park on a fall afternoon to capture their wedding.

But, let’s jump back for just a second because I always like to share how my couples met! For Breanne and Denny, it was through Facebook Dating. So a quick reminder to everyone out there who is still looking for their forever date. Don’t believe the hype, Facebook dating actually works! They made plans to meet and in Breanne's words, saying that they hit it off is putting in mildly. They spent their first date laughing so hard their cheeks hurt. And by the way, that date? It wasn’t over until the early hours of the morning. Breanne found it nearly impossible not to fall in love with Denny.

Before the epic proposal, Denny and Breanne spent their time together on road trips. Sitting by the lake getting lost in conversation. Having fun singing karaoke. Squeezing in as many concerts as humanly possible. And enjoying their favorite shows (crime documentaries & reality TV) snuggled up on the couch. In each other, they found the one. The one to laugh with, and the one to share all of their days with.

So when that fateful fall afternoon arrived, I was all systems go to capture their Friendship Park fall wedding! Remember those goth vibes I mentioned? Breanne wore an epic black dress, and her sweet flower-girl daughter did as well. Denny and the rest of the crew showed up in deep hues of purple. The gazebo at Friendship Park was outfitted with purple and black tulle for the occasion. But, where I was really impressed, was with Breanne's bouquet (which she made herself!). She used black and purple flowers, with skull ornaments to make her fall goth-vibes wedding come to life!
