The Crofoot Wedding

I started my career photographing concerts. So capturing this wedding at The Crofoot was a big full-circle moment for me! Add that to the fact that my couple, Haley & Austin were all about the Halloween, Rock n’ Roll vibes at their wedding and you have one epic night at The Crofoot for the #DeFranceTheNightAway wedding!

Oh gosh, where to even begin? For starters, when Haley and Austin’s big day finally arrived, the energy was kicked into high gear with the bride and her wedding party in the second-floor lounge. The Crofoot provides this space to its couples on the day of their wedding for those amaze getting-ready moments, and Haley’s day was no exception. There was a custom album created just for Haley from her wedding party that included “notes for the bride”. The inside of the album held photos from years past and present, along with well wishes from Haley’s friends, each of which expressed their gratitude for Haley’s friendship and love & admiration for their bestie turned bride.

But, by far the biggest shock and awe moment to come in the getting ready lounge was Haley’s wedding gown, which she made herself! From start to finish Haley put her creativity to work to curate a gorgeous wedding dress full of embellishments, details, and above all, heaps of personality! Oh, and did I mention the customized rhinestone wedding day sneakers? Because what else can you wear on your feet to dance the night away at your wedding at The Crofoot?! Naturally, with such an epic gown, there was one wedding photography experience I knew we had to bring to life. A first look with the members of her wedding party! All of Haley’s crew waited at the base of the stairs while she was fastened into her gown and her veil was affixed to her long whimsical wedding day braid. The moment definitely paid off when everyone turned around, stunned and smiling to see Haley in her one-of-a-kind bridal gown!

Once the first look with her wedding party was complete, it was time to meet her groom. Haley was off to surprise Austin during their first look before meeting at the altar. I pretty much guarantee that you’ve never seen such a tender look on a groom's face before. The way Austin embraced Haley after he set eyes on his beautiful bride for the first time that day is enough to make your heart melt! Words cannot express how ready I was to watch the two of them get married. They chose to host their wedding at The Crofoot because the venue holds special meaning to them. Every year Haley and Austin take part in The Crofoot’s Halloween event Creepy Cheapy. So, they were joined in marriage on the stage of The Crofoot with a 12ft tall skeleton in the backdrop, witch hats hanging high above their guests, and pumpkins in every corner!

With sacred vows of marriage recited Haley and Austin were now officially official! It was time to head outside with my bride and groom for a Champagne spray to celebrate the occasion. From there we hit the streets of Pontiac with their wedding party to take advantage of the colorful murals and artwork in the city. The perfect backdrop for rock n’ roll wedding photos, if you ask me! You’ll get to see each of those moments as well as the entire wedding party’s commitment to Vans as their shoe for the night, some high-energy moments on the dance floor, and the matching jean vests when you scroll through the photos below!
